Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently record a VIN code on an electronic control unit after replacement; and to output a normal VIN code from the electronic control unit after the replacement when replacing either of a plurality of electronic control units connected via a communication line.
SOLUTION: This vehicular electronic control device 10 monitors the communication line L after the replacement when either of ECUs is newly arranged by the replacement and does not store the VIN code, and stores this VIN code by detecting the VIN code responding toward an external scan tool 50 by the other ECU. The new ECU does not immediately output the VIN code stored by acquiring from the communication line L to the external scan tool 50, and outputs the VIN code after confirming that the VIN code is normal in prescribed times by monitoring the communication line.
