Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine unit or the like capable of improving early startability of a four-stroke engine having fluctuation in a load and mountability to a vehicle regardless of a cooling system of the engine.SOLUTION: An engine unit includes a four-stroke engine body, a starter motor, and a control device, and the control device includes a plurality of detected sections provided on an outer surface of an outer rotor, a rotor position detecting device having a detection coil provided separately from a stator coil, and a plurality of switching sections. A control mode is shifted from a mode in which the switching sections are turned on and off at preset timing so as to start normal rotation of a crankshaft to a mode in which the switching sections are turned on and off at timing on the basis of an electric signal flowing through the detection coil of the rotor position detecting device varied in correspondence with the change of a magnetic state when the detected sections are moved in accordance with normal rotation of the crankshaft so as to accelerate normal rotation of the crankshaft.
