Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control displacement of the pad surface of a vehicular pedal when external force not less than a predetermined value acts from the front side of the vehicle.
SOLUTION: A brake pedal 10 is swingingly supported by a pedal bracket 26. The front end side of the pedal bracket 26 is fixed to a dash panel 16, and the rear end side thereof is detachably attached to a slide plate 50 fixed to an instrument panel reinforcement 50. The slide plate 50 is equipped with an inclined surface 50A inclined toward nearly the rear side of the vehicle and nearly the lower side of the vehicle, and the rear side of the pedal bracket 26 after detachment is rotatively displaced toward nearly the front side of the vehicle by sliding on the inclined surface 50A. Thereby, a pedal pad 58 of the brake pedal 10 supported to the pedal bracket 26 is rotatively displaced toward nearly the front side of the vehicle as well.
