Abstract:
To provide a separation device and a separation method of a veneer that can separate almost certainly the topmost veneer from the second and subsequent veneers in a pile of veneers.SOLUTION: A separation device 1 includes a front suction box 32, a rear suction box 33, and suction pads 34 as front suction bodies capable of sucking a veneer 101. An intermediate body 40A is placed between the front suction box 32 and the rear suction box 33. The front suction box 32 and the rear suction box 33 can be raised with the veneer 101 sucked. When the front suction box 32 and the rear suction box 33 reach the predetermined front upper limit position and the rear upper limit position, respectively, a concave-convex curved surface is formed along the longitudinal direction of the veneer 101 in a sucked and suspended state so that the front upper limit position and the rear upper limit position are the mountains and the intermediate body contact position, which is the contact position with the intermediate body 40A, is the valley.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
