Abstract:
The engine (10) has an auxiliary air compressor (48) driven by mechanical energy produced from a Stirling engine (53). The engine is mounted in downstream of a combustion chamber (21). The engine has a hot chamber that is in thermal contact with a primary hot gas flow (B) from a turbine, and a cold chamber that is in thermal contact with a secondary cold gas flow (A) generated by an impeller (14). The cold gas flow is moved around the turbine and exhaust case. The engine has heat exchangers respectively housed in hot gas flow and cold gas flow.
