To provide a venting structure for a door frame, which is simple in structure, and exhibits excellent venting performance and sound insulating performance.
A hollow venting space portion 2 is formed in a head 1 of a door frame A, and front and rear venting openings 4, 3 which communicate with front and rear portions of the venting space portion 2, respectively, and open downward, are formed at front and rear ends of the lower surface of the head 1 over the entire length thereof, whereby air movement flowing from an indoor space on one side of a door into the venting opening 4 or 3 is allowed to flow via the venting space portion 2 and the other venting opening 4 or 3 to the other side of the door. Further, a venting member 6 formed of a cardboard laminate obtained by arranging linear vent passages 7 with a small diameter, in multiple rows and multiple layers is disposed in the venting space portion 2. As a result, air movement is allowed to flow through the venting member 6, and sound transmitted from the venting openings 4, 3 is declined.
