Abstract:

To ensure sufficient damping performance in a vertical direction.SOLUTION: A vertical vibration damping device which is provided in a seismic isolation layer between an upper structure and a lower structure and damps vertical vibration of the upper structure with respect to the lower structure is a vertical elastic bearing device supporting the upper structure and absorbing the vertical vibration, which includes a vertical elastic bearing device provided on one of the upper structure or the lower structure and is horizontally displaceable with respect to the other of the upper structure or the lower structure, a response amplifying device which amplifies a predetermined amount of vertical response associated with the vertical vibration to a response which is larger than the predetermined amount, and a response damping device which damps the response.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
