Abstract:
To provide a vibration control device for a structure which favorably controls the response displacement and response acceleration of a structure by a single seismic isolation layer, and realizes reduction in costs and construction period.SOLUTION: A vibration control device 1 for a structure is installed between a building S and a ground G or at a seismic isolation layer L in the middle of the building S. Connection members 4a and 4b are vertically arranged between an upper layer part and a lower layer part of the seismic isolation layer L. The connection members 4a and 4b sustain vertical load and are flexible to be horizontally deformed. A tie member 6 is connected between the connection members 4a and 4b, and a support member 7 is set up either on the upper layer part or the lower layer part. A mass damper 5 is connected between the tie member 6 and the support member 7. When vibration is input at the time of an earthquake, horizontal deformation of the connection members 4a and 4b is transferred to the mass damper 5 via the tie member 6, and inertial mass effect is put forth by rotation of a rotary mass 14. Reactive force of the mass damper 5 is absorbed by the connection members 4a and 4b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
