To provide a vice grip plier type pinching jig capable of corresponding to the thickness of a work and materializing easy use.

A vice grip plier type pinching jig 10 is provided with an approximately L-shaped extending member 16 on the upper gripping part 12. In the vice grip plier type pinching jig 10, a boss 17 is mounted on the extending member 16. A shaft 21 is passed through a through hole 18 of the boss 17. The large diameter part 22 is mounted on an upper holding piece 25. The upper holding piece 25 is connected to the tip 13 of the upper gripping part 12 through a couple of links 29, 29. A valve spring 23 is provided between the upper holding piece 25 and the boss 17. When the upper and lower gripping parts 12, 36 are closed, the shaft 21 of the exhaust or intake valve 20 is maintained so as to be freely movable with respect to the through hole 18. The work is pinched by the biasing force of the valve spring 23. By so doing, the shaft 21 is abutted onto the through hole 18 when the upper and lower gripping parts 12, 36 are opened.
