To solve the problem in which: in an encoding process of a three dimensional (3D) image consisting of right and left 2 channel images, means that reduces amount of information after encoding process by utilizing correlation of right and left images is proposed, because operation amount related to the processing and amount of information after encoding process are twice as that of a two dimensional (2D) image; but the conventional method cannot decode the right and left images independently, and it cannot reduce the operation amount related to the processing.
Independent compression processing of a first channel processing section 101 and a second channel processing section 201 enables independent decoding. A motion vector detection section 103 of a first channel searches for a motion vector and gives it to a motion vector detection section 203 of a second channel so as to reduce operation amount related to motion vector search of the second channel.
