Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video deck capable of reducing the power consumption at the time of standby and also prolonging the life of a light emitting element by controlling the electric power supplied to the light emitting element at the time of standby for insertion and after the insertion of a video cassette.
SOLUTION: By suppressing the power supplied to the light emitting LED 13 and a start sensor 14a, which execute the detection of the insertion of the video cassette, to be nearly a half of the specified power required for detecting the beginning/terminating ends of a magnetic tape by the light emitting LED 13 and the start sensor 14a in the standby state the video cassette is inserted, the reduction of the power consumption in the light emitting LED 13 and the start sensor 14a is attained without interrupting the respective functions. Then, the life of the light emitting LED 13 is prolonged by that the electrical load exerted on the light emitting LED 13 as the synergistic effect is reduced.
