To solve the problem wherein, in the prior arts, since an interpolation frame is generated on the basis of a motion vector generated on the basis of recorded video information, it is difficult to accurately reproduce panning information, tilting information and zooming information in recording, and since acceleration information can not be estimated from the recorded video information, when the interpolation frame is generated using a motion compensation vector, deviation from actual operation may occur.
In a photographing unit, a video signal is encoded, camera information is recorded together with the encoded video information, and the recorded video signal and camera information are input to a reproduction unit. In the reproduction unit, the recorded video information is decoded, and while using camera information such as, e.g., zooming information, panning information, acceleration information or tilting information, N pieces of interpolation frames are generated and output between image frames of the decoded video signal, thereby achieving frame interpolation meeting a status in recording.
