PURPOSE: To attain video program recording reservation without complicated operation by extracting program information of each channel from a separated character signal, synthesizing program information, generating a program list and displaying the program list.
CONSTITUTION: When the user uses a light pen to touch a screen of a cathode ray tube, a CPU 13 reads program information from a program data memory 15 and writes a list of all channels over all time zone to a menu data register 17. Then the CPU 13 provides an output of part of the program list as picture data to a display output register 18. Then the CPU 13 reads program information of a corresponding program from a program data memory 15 and copies the information to a video recording reservation data memory 20. Then the CPU 13 displays a corresponding program list based on program data written in the memories 15,20 and displays a display color of a program whose video recording is reserved by means of a color representing a normal video recording reservation state.
