PURPOSE: To obtain reproduced video without blurring by recording the camera video signals of a high speed shutter at every several fields and reproducing only a high speed shutter video recording signal at the time of reproducing a still picture and at the time of reproducing frame feed.

CONSTITUTION: An ATF(automatic track finding) system is to overlap and record four kinds of pilot signals on a video track and a rotary video head overlaps four frequency pilot signal on the video signal. Thus, they are recorded cyclically on the recording track on a tape. When a ATF signal is a signal f1 among signals f1, f2, f3 and f4 by a signal from ATF circuit 3a, a video camera 1 is switched to a high speed shutter by a high speed shutter switching signal from the ATF circuit 3a so as to execute recording. At the time of reproducing the still picture and reproducing frame feed, ATF of an ATF circuit 3b reproduces the recorded video signal only consisting of the field of the signal f1. Thus, the still picture with little blurring and the frame feed reproduced picture can be obtained in such a way.
