PURPOSE: To suppress crosstalk between adjacent tracks, by giving no azimuth angle to a track for recording a luminance signal component which becomes reference of a time base at the time of reproducing, and giving an azimuth angle to other track.
CONSTITUTION: When a magnetic head for a luminance signal traces on a locus 61, a level of a signal outputted from the magnetic head for a luminance signal becomes a tangent 65. As the head traces, a track shift increases, an output of the magnetic head decreases gradually, and at the point of time when it traces just half the locus 61, a signal reproduced from a track 55 is gone, and thereafter, a signal reproduced from a track 67 increases gradually. On the other hand, as a magnetic head for a color signal traces a locus 62, it becomes an output level shown by a tangent 67. Subsequently, the same change as the case of the magnetic head for a luminance signal is caused, but an azimuth angle is given to the magnetic head for a color signal, therefore, variation on the time axis is varied in accordance with a polygonal 68.
