Title:
VISCOUS HEATER AND ROTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3564869
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscous heater which can effectively generate heat.
SOLUTION: A heat generating room 7 and a water jacket (heat radiating room) 8 are adjacently formed in the front and rear housings 1, 6 and a driving shaft 12 is turnably supported. A rotor 13 is mounted on the driving shaft 12 such that it can be integrally rotated with the shaft. The inner wall surface 7a of the heat generating room is opposed to the acting surface 13b of the rotor and viscous fluid is filled between the opposite surfaces. The maximum roughness (Rmax) of the acting surface 13b of the rotor is set in the range of 1 to 10% of a spacing between the opposite surfaces 7a and 13b and the mean roughness of ten points is set at 25Rz or less.
