Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road surface marking which remains visible for a long time.
SOLUTION: A coating film 12 of a road surface marking 10 and a retroreflective glass bead 14 are covered with a photocatalyst containing layer 16. When the photocalyst containing layer 16 is shone on by the sun, the photocatalyst is light-excited by sunlight, and the surface of the photocatalyst containing layer 16 is made extra hydrophillic. Whenever the road surface marking is hit by rain, dirt adhering to the surface is washed away, and the surface is selfcleaned. The method of constructing a road surface marking and the process of selfcleaning are disclosed.
