Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an on-line grinding device to execute roll grinding in high precision by arranging a device to move a rotating grindstone to the axial direction of rolling roll and a support device to support a grindstone rotating shaft rotatable and movable in the axial direction.
SOLUTION: A grinding machine 16 is advanced together with a mounting frame with extending action of a hydraulic cylinder for pushing so as to push a rotating grindstone 21 on the surface of work roll to rotate, rotating force of a motor 56 is transmitted to a grindstone rotating shaft 53 from a drive shaft 57 through a belt 61. While rotating the rotating grindstone 21, by traversing a base plate parallel to the axial center of work roll with a traverse device, the surface of work roll is ground. In this case, a displacement of grindstone rotating shaft 53 is found through the detected value of a gap sensor 80, a pushing force is calculated by means of the displacement and spring constant of a spring mechanism 70 known beforehand. By this method, the hydraulic cylinder for pushing is subjected to feedback control based on the calculated pushing force, as a result, the grinding is executed under optimum condition.
