Abstract:
To provide a viterbi decoder which reduces a required memory capacity by utilizing characteristics of input data and to provide a digital reception device provided with the same.
The viterbi decoder provided in a digital broadcast reception device for performing partial reception receives TS data from a multiplex frame configuration part in a preceding stage in units of TSP. A TSP consists of data packets DTP or null packets NLP, and data packets DTP are not consecutively inputted to the viterbi decoder on characteristics of partial reception data. The viterbi decoder temporally serially performs processing of data write to a path memory and data read from path memory in consideration of characteristics of the partial reception data.
