Abstract:
To provide a glassy layer coated cast iron having few defects such as surface roughness or pinhole, and capable of maintaining high corrosion resistance for a long time.SOLUTION: The glassy layer coated cast iron forms a glassy coating layer with a smooth and uniform surface on a cast iron by enhancing adhesiveness with the cast iron by using a glaze or a glaze agent containing sodium silicate (a solution of No.3 sodium silicate, i.e. "water glass") high in flowability for forming the glassy coating layer covering a cast iron surface, and making suction of air bubbles consisting of carbon dioxide or the like generated during burning good. Thereby a high quality cast iron product of the glassy layer coating having no generation of pinhole and excellent water resistance and corrosion resistance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
