Abstract:
PURPOSE: To allow high efficiency voice CODEC to receive a PB signal whose quality is warranted while satisfying the PB signal NTT standards in addition to a voice signal.
CONSTITUTION: When a PB signal reception circuit 2 detects a PB signal at a transmission section T, signals for a tone period and a pause period for the PB signal coded by an in-band processing circuit 3 are expanded at least by a prescribed frame number period (in compliance with PB signal NTT standards). Whether the signal is a voice or a PB signal is discriminated in the unit of frames and a PB expanded output is obtained for a period when a multiplexer 4 detects the PB signal and voice coded data are outputted for other periods. Furthermore, a frame mode detection circuit 7 in a equipment section R detects a frame mode of the PB signal to decode the PB signal and the voice signal or the PB signal is sent to an output line selectively. Thus, the PB signal whose quality is warranted while satisfying the PB signal NTT standards in addition to a voice signal is sent to a digital line 10.
