SHUTTLE TYPE CONVEYOR PROVIDED WITH INTER-VEHICLE DISTANCE VARIABLE CYLINDER FOR CONVEYANCE VEHICLE

PURPOSE: To move a head conveyance vehicle while keeping a tail conveyance vehicle in a standby state to transfer a conveyed object to a head placing base by providing an inter-vehicle distance variable cylinder for connecting specific adjoining conveyance vehicles and a reciprocating cylinder for reciprocating a plurality of conveyance vehicles.
CONSTITUTION: A shuttle type conveyor 30, by means of reciprocating motion of a reciprocating cylinder 37 by a pitch quantity of all the carriages and elevation of an elevating table, transfers a conveyed object between the carriage and the placing base to advance the object so as to conduct delivery from a first placing base 41 at the tail to a seventh placing base 47 at the head. When the seventh placing base 47 becomes empty by means of a taking-out device such as a crane, a next conveyed object is delivered by reciprocating motion of all the carriages. When the next conveyed object is not delivered to the first placing base 41, the reciprocating cylinder 37 and an inter-vehicle distance variable cylinder 48 are operated. Though all the carriages are going to be moved by the reciprocating cylinder 37, an inter-vehicle distance between a first carriage 31 and a second carriage 32 is expanded to 2 times of P6 by the inter-vehicle distance variable cylinder 48, and only the first carriage 31 is brought into a standby state opposing to the first placing base 41.
