To provide a volume-reducing and solidifying device and a volume-reducing and solidifying method both capable of effectively volume-reducing and solidifying various foamed synthetic resins to be volume-reduced or the like while preventing the generation of noise and improving the durability of the device.
Both ends of a shaft 25 of a sending screw 24 are rotatably supported by a frame and a bearing holder. A compressive screw 60 is intersected and arranged on the discharge end side of the sending screw 24 at a position near to the shaft 25 ahead of the screw end of the sending screw 24 and offset from the shaft core of the sending screw 24. The shaft 61 of the compressive screw 60 is rotatably supported at two positions by a motor M and the bearing member 68.
