Title:
VORTEX FLOWMETER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01301117
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To measure a flow velocity and a flow rate with high accuracy by providing a ring-shaped vortex generation body about 4-20% of the radius of a conduit inside a part corresponding to the mean velocity of the flow velocity distribution of fluid flowing in the conduit. CONSTITUTION:The ring-shaped vortex generation body 2 is provided about 4-20% of the radius of the conduit 1 inside the center axis of the conduit 1, e.g. at a position of 0.70R. Vortexes which are discharged periodically from the vortex generation body 2 are detected by, for example, an ultrasonic sensor and a pressure sensor to measure the flow velocity and flow rate of the fluid. Thus, the proper interval between the vortex generation body 2 and tube wall brings special effect to the stabilization or vortex discharging and this effect is utilized to discharge the vortexes stably, thereby measuring the flow velocity and flow rate with high accuracy.
