Title:
VULCANIZABLE FLUORINE-CONTAINING ELASTOMER COMPOSITION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3141594
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition capable of providing a vulcanizate improved in heat resistance with hardly any formation of toxic substances in vulcanization by blending a fluorine-containing elastomer containing iodine, bromine, etc., in the molecule with a salicylaldimino-copper complex as a cross- linking agent.
CONSTITUTION: An autoclave is charged with water, ammonium perfluorooctanoate and Na2HPO4.12H2O and its atmosphere is replaced with nitrogen gas. The autoclave is then successively charged with 1-bromo-2- iodotetrafluoroethane, perfuoro(2-bromoethylvinyl ether), hexafluoropropene, tetrafluoroethylene and vinylidene fluoride and heated to 70°C. Ammonium persulfate is subsequently added and copolymerization is carried out for 6hr. The resultant aqueous latex is then salted out with a 10% aqueous solution of sodium chloride, washed with water and dried to provide a white rubber-like copolymer. A salicylaldimino-copper complex expressed by the formula as a crosslinking agent 18 subsequently added to the obtained copolymer and kneaded with a roll mill to afford the objective vulcanizable fluorine-containing elastomer composition.
