Abstract:
To provide a walking support device for supporting walking of a visually impaired user having a guiding function similar to that of a seeing eye dog despite being relatively lightweight and small-sized.SOLUTION: A walking support device includes: a harness 10 gripped by the hand H of a user U; a mounted section 20 mounted on the lumbar part W of the user U; an arm section 30 including first to third link parts 31, 33, and 35 connected through first to third joint sections 32, 34, and 36 for connecting the harness 10 and the mounted section 20; a camera 5 and an electronic gyroscope 3 for acquiring peripheral information on the user U and posture information on the harness 10; and a controller for generating an action command and driving the arm section 30. The first to third joint sections 32, 34, and 36 are rotated around a vertical shaft and a horizontal shaft by a built-in step motor. The controller causes the step motor to cooperate and moves the harness 10 in a direction corresponding to the action command.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
