Abstract:
An apparatus for detecting a break in a warp yarn (Y) in a loom includes a heald (7), a heald frame (1), a carrier rod (5), a sensor (11), a controller (24) and a signal line (12,13,22,23). The heald (7) is made of a resin material for guiding a warp yarn (Y). The heald frame (1) performs a shedding operation of warp yarns and has the carrier rod (5) for supporting a plurality of the healds (7). The sensor (11) is provided in the heald (7) for sensing a deformation of the heald caused by a tension of the warp yarn (Y) and outputting a signal. The controller (24) is provided for determining a condition of the break in the warp yarn (Y) based on the signal of the sensor (11). The signal line (12,13,22,23) electrically connects to the sensor (11) and the controller (24).
