PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine which can increase washing capacity without increasing the size of an outer shell, and which can secure safety by securing a gap between a water tub and a rotary tub.SOLUTION: A washing machine includes: a water tub constituted by connecting a water tub cover on an opening part side of a bottomed cylindrical water tub body; and a rotary tub in which an annular balance ring is provided at an end part on an opening part side of a cylindrical body accommodated in the water tub so as to rotate around a rotation axis of a bottom part. When the rotary tub rotates, the balance ring side being separated from the rotation axis in the rotary tub inclines. In the water tub, an inner diameter in the vicinity of a joint between the water tub body and a water tub cover is formed to be larger than the other portions. The body of the rotary tub has a large-diameter part in which the outer diameter is larger than the outer diameter of the balance ring, and also has an outer diameter change part which changes so that the outer diameter becomes smaller from the large-diameter part toward a connection portion with the balance ring. A starting point part which is in the body and in which the large-diameter part in which the outer diameter becomes the maximum changes into the outer diameter change part is arranged in a position corresponding to the vicinity of the joint between the water tub body and the water tub cover.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
