To provide a waste refuse separator capable of eliminating the clogging of a garbage-filled packaging container without requiring the periodic monitor of a worker or the like, capable of reducing the energy loss of a drive mechanism and capable of enhancing the durable reliability of respective parts.

Since the waste refuse separator is equipped with a reversal control means for controlling the drive mechanism so as to detect rotation load to rotate a rotary shaft member in other direction and a re-forward rotation control means for controlling the drive mechanism so as to rotate the rotary shaft member in one direction after reversing the rotary shaft member by the reversal control means, the rotary shaft member is reversed to eliminate clogging when the garbage-filled packaging container is clogged to apply load to the rotary shaft member. When clogging is eliminated, the rotary shaft member is forwardly rotated to automatically resume separation work of garbage and packaging container refuse.
