Abstract:
PURPOSE: To restrain excess variation in tension when main winding is switched to a winding bobbin in a wire drawing step of optical fiber.
CONSTITUTION: In a step for winding a filament 1 to the winding drum 31 of a wasteful winding reel part 3, traverse is carried out in such a manner that a traverse width becomes large as a winding layer outer diameter increases so that the outer diameter winding layer is similar to the taper surface of the winding drum 31 until the winding layer outer diameter is equivalent to the diameter D0 of the winding drum 21 of a winding bobbin 2 and then traverse is carried out in such a manner that the traverse width becomes sequentially smaller as the winding layer outer diameter increase. Winding layers BAC are formed in a triangle in its cross sectional view by a plane containing a centeral axis.
