To provide a water absorption system achieved in the elongation of a service life of a water absorber by effectively suppressing the deposition of a scale to the water absorber.
The water absorption system 1 is equipped with the water absorber 5 with one part immersed in water in a water storage part 3 to absorb the water in the water storage part 3 and with an electrically conductive portion 5A immersed in water in at least the water storage part 3, and a counter electrode 6 immersed in the water storage part 3. Positive electrical potential is applied to a portion having the conductivity of the water absorber 5, and negative electrical potential is applied to the counter electrode 6. By this, a scale component is pushed away by repulsion with the water absorber applied with the positive electrical potential.
