Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a hygienic water-based paint that does not use any BPA-derived components, that has good retort resistance, and that minimizes whitening and blisters in a coating film thereof. This water-based paint comprises: a polymer emulsion (D1) that is obtained by using a non-ionic water-soluble radical initiator (C) to polymerize a monomer (A) that is emulsified in the presence of water by an acrylic copolymer (B) that comprises a carboxyl group and that comprises no crosslinking functional groups other than the carboxyl group; and a phenolic resin (E). The monomer (A) contains 0.01-5 parts by weight of an amide-based monomer (A1) that is one substance selected from the group consisting of N-alkoxyalkyl (meth)acrylamide, N-hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylamide, and (meth)acrylamide in 100 parts by weight of said monomer (A). The water-based paint contains 0.5-20 parts by weight of the phenolic resin (E) with respect to 100 parts by weight of the non-volatile resin content of the polymer emulsion (D1).
