To provide a water discharge device capable of easily achieving a constantly proper attachment state by facilitating the operation of attaching a rotary member, and a method for assembling the water discharge device.
This water discharge device includes: a cover member 5 which is provided with a side wall 5a having a front end closed and having a back end opened as a backward opening 6, and which has a front-side opening 8 provided in the front portion of the side wall; the rotary member 29 which is inserted into the cover member from the front end opening, which is provided with a water introducing opening-formed portion 30 having a water introducing opening 32 for straight water discharge and a water introducing opening 34 for shower water discharge formed, and which is rotated to switch between the state of making the water introducing opening for straight water discharge communicate with an upstream-side water derivation port 47 of the water introducing opening-formed portion and the state of making the water introducing opening for shower water discharge communicate with the upstream-side water derivation port 47 thereof; and a supporting member 19 which is inserted into the cover member from the backward opening, and which rotatably supports the rotary member by abutting on a diameter-enlarged portion 59 formed on the exterior wall surface of the rotary member.
