Title:
WATER JET PROPULSION SHIP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2939456
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure sealing ability by structuring a duct for water intake such that the shape of the inner surface thereof is prevented from changing and extremely facilitate maintenance and inspection of an impeller device.
SOLUTION: A water jet propulsion ship is formed such that a water intake port 20 formed in a bottom is communicated with a propulsive body 16 to contain an impeller through a duct 24 for water intake constituted by a ship hull 22. In this case, the outer peripheral surface of the front edge of the propulsive body 16 is covered with an annular sheet material 40 and the propulsive body 16 is fitted in the duct 24 for water intake along the inner peripheral surface of the rear edge of the duct 24 for water intake. This constitution ensures reliable sealing ability, and simply mounts the propulsive body to a ship hull, and simplifies removal of the propulsive body from a ship hull when maintenance of the propulsive body is executed.
