To openably close a luggage compartment opening in the rear portion of a car body from the rear upside, and to secure good seal between an opening edge of the luggage compartment opening and a luggage compartment door when the luggage compartment door in pressure contact with a weather strip engaged with the opening edge of the luggage compartment opening is provided.

An inner space in the rear portion 2 of a car body is used as a luggage compartment 18. A luggage compartment opening 19 for opening the luggage compartment 18 backward is formed in the rear wall 9 of the rear portion 2 of the car body. An opening edge 24 of the luggage compartment opening 19 is folded, and its end edge 26 is projected toward the outside of a car. A weather strip 27 is engaged with this end edge 26. The luggage compartment opening 19 is openably closed from its rear upward, outside of the car, and a luggage compartment door 28 is provided in pressure contact with the weather strip 27. The end edge 26 on the upper portion of the opening edge 24 is projected toward the rear upside.
