Title:
WATER RESISTING ANTI-SUNBURN PREPARATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03112921
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject sunscreen having an effect for preventing the irradiation of sunlight damaging the skin and causing cancers on the skin and useful for protecting the skins by dispersing a specific amount of a higher saturated synthetic aliphatic wax and a specific amount of an anhydrous hydrophobic starch in a specified anhydrous carrier. CONSTITUTION: This sunscreen is obtained by dispersing 1-10wt.% of a 18-36C saturated synthetic aliphatic wax such as Syncrow wax and 3-30wt.% of anhydrous hydrophobic starch such as aluminum hydrophobic starch octenyl succinate in a 60-90wt.% of a pharmacologically acceptable carrier such as a mineral oil, a vegetable oil or an anhydrous solvent, and, if necessary, further contains a UV light absorbent, such as benzophenone-3, in an amount up to 20wt.%. The topical application of the effective amount of the sunscreen to the skin of a mammalian converts the skin of the mammalian to a water-resistant skin, protects the skin from injurious actions caused by the irradiation of solar light in wavelengths of 700-2,600nm, converts the surface of the skin into a non-tacky and water-resistant surface, and exhibits the persistent effect for a long time.
