PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-shielding structure safe without using high voltage and easy to carry out a maintenance work, to detect water leakage and the position where water leakage occurs, and to repair the water leakage part, and to provide a method for detecting water leakage, and to provide a method for repairing the water leakage part.
SOLUTION: This water-shielding structure comprises an inspection corridor 22 installed in a part 18 where water-shielding work is done, a first scarcely water- permeable clay layer 24 with a prescribed thickness and so formed on the surface of the water-shielding part 18 as to incline downward to the inspection corridor 22, a second scarcely water-permeable clay layer 26 with a prescribed thickness and formed on the first scarcely water-permeable clay layer 24, an upper part water- shielding sheet 30 laid on the second scarcely water-permeable clay layer 26, and a space layer 28 formed between the first scarcely water-permeable clay layer 24 and the second scarcely water-permeable clay layer 26. The inspection corridor 22 and the space layer 28 are communicated through a water collecting and pouring pipe 46 and water leakage detection and water stop material injection are carried out by utilizing the water collecting and pouring pipe 46.
