Abstract:
To provide a water-treating method which removes boron from boron-containing water such as seawater.
The method comprises a first process of increasing a degree of supersaturation of calcium carbonate in boron-containing water to produce a calcium carbonate crystal core and a second process of lowering the degree of supersaturation of calcium carbonate in the boron-containing water to suppress production of the calcium carbonate crystal core and also bringing the borate ion into the crystal while crystal-growing the calcium carbonate crystal core produced in the first process, by which the borate ion (boron) in the boron-containing water is removed at high efficiency.
