To obtain a cellulosic fiber fabric that has waterproofness, moisture absorption and air permeation as well as soft fabric hand by fibrillating the cellulosic fiber fabric on its fiber surfaces and then subjecting the surface fibrillated fabric to the water repellent finishing.
Cellulosic fiber fabric, preferably a fabric made of solvent-spun cellulosic fibers, is fibrillated on its surface with a high-pressure fluid columnar flow and subjected to the water repellent finish by using a mixed treatment agent that comprises an organofluorine water-repellent agent, for example, a perfluoroalkyl acrylate and a crosslinking agent made of a blocked isocyanate resin or the like at a weight ratio of 4/1-6/1 in an amount of 2-20 wt.% based on the weight of the fiber followed by heat treatment of the finished fabric.
