To provide a waterproof cordless orbital sander that is compact, excellent in portability, capable of performing many hours of work by ensuring simple replacement of a power unit, excellent in reliability, and capable of using a sander body even in a work site using moisture such as water-soluble liquid.
The waterproof cordless orbital sander comprises an eccentric rotary mechanism disposed in the sander body 1 of nearly waterproof structure and having a DC motor 7 powered from a power unit 26, a base section 12 performing eccentric rotating motion by the drive of the eccentric rotary mechanism, a polishing section 5 mounted to the base section 12, a pocket section 16 for storing the power unit 26 provided inside the sander body 1, a cap body 3 constituting a part of an outer wall of the sander body 1 and performing opening and closing of an open end of the pocket section 16 so that the power unit 26 can be inserted and extracted from the pocket section 16, and a partition wall 37 isolating the DC motor 7 and the power unit 26 inside the sander body 1.
