PURPOSE: To remarkably shorten waveform equalization time when a video disk player is reproduced at the time of second and succeeding reproduction on the disk of the same software title.
CONSTITUTION: A peculiar number corresponding to the software title of the video disk is recorded in the control signal recording area of the video disk being the recording medium of the video disk player corresponding to MUSE 1. A waveform equalization result when the video disk of the software title is reproduced last time is stored in the non-volatile memory 10 of the waveform equalization circuit in a MUSE decoder 2 connected to the video disk player 1 as an address. When the video disk of the same software title is reproduced next time, the peculiar numbers for the respective titles, which are recorded in the disk, are readout, and the waveform equalization result when the disk of the same software title is reproduced last time is read out of the non-volatile memory 10.
