To reduce the number of multipliers of a chromatic dispersion compensation filter made up of a FIR filter.SOLUTION: A wavelength dispersion compensation filter includes cascade-connected N-1 delay units constituting a tapped delay line of N (N is an odd number of 3 or more) taps in a unit delay time T with respect to an input signal, a branch delay unit that further delays a tap signal branched from the tapped delay line, and an adder that sums the delay outputs of the branch delay unit and outputs a sum total signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
