Abstract:
To provide a wavelength sweeping light source realizing stable FDML operation by controlling the optical path length of a resonator according to resonator length change.SOLUTION: Reference light outputted from a laser light source 151 is reflected on a dichroic mirror 155 and inputted from a fiber collimator 132 to a fiber ring. The reference light around the fiber ring is reflected on the dichroic mirror 155, and then reflected on a polarization beam splitter 153 before incident to a photodetector 156. When the optical path length of the fiber ring, including a light delay fiber 170, changes due to temperature change, phase difference Δφ changes. When the phase difference Δφ is negative (Δφ<0), the circulation cycle has been shortened, and it is lengthened by elongating the optical path length of a fiber stretcher 180 so that the Δφ becomes zero. Meanwhile, when the phase difference Δφ is positive (Δφ>0), the circulation cycle has been lengthened, and the optical path length of the fiber stretcher 180 shortened so that the Δφ becomes zero.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
