PURPOSE: To obtain a module type web material treatment apparatus capable of being altered during operation by providing a plurality of cartridges for printing a web in one row and forming the printing cylinder of at least one of the cartridges so as to have an outer diameter different from that of the printing cylinder of the separate cartridge.
CONSTITUTION: A printing machine has three cartridges 40 and each of the cartridges 40 is equipped with a pair of blanket cylinders 43, 44 and a pair of plate cylinders 45, 46 different in outer diameter and the outer peripheral surfaces of the plate cylinders are formed by printing plates coming into contact with the corresponding one of the blanket cylinders 43, 44. A web passes so as to go round a roller 47 to pass through the nip between a pair of the blanket cylinders 43, 44 of each of the cartridges. The image to be printed on the web is carried onto the plate cylinders 45, 46 and transferred to the web through the blanket cylinders 43, 44. The ink applying/water feeding trains 48, 49 arranged on both sides of the web are made movable vertically when printing is started so as to be aligned with either one of the cartridges 40.
