Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a web windup reference roll capable of exhausting even the air entrapped in the layer of a web roll and also exhausting air even from a roll with a large web width and roll diameter.
SOLUTION: A windup reference roll 3 rotated while being brought in contact with the surface of a web roll R under windup is formed so that narrow grooves 31 for narrow deep grooves are formed spirally and wide grooves 32 for wide shallow grooves are formed spirally and overlappingly with the narrow grooves 31 on the surface of the roll of the windup reference roll 3. Also air Ab accumulated at a portion corresponding to the wide grooves 32 on the surface layer of the web roll R is exhausted forcibly to the end of a web W because a flat part 33 adjacent to the wide grooves 32 is moved in the direction of a roll end part according to the rotation of the windup reference roll 3.
