Title:
WELDING MACHINE PARTS FOR PREVENTING SPATTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6254583
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decrease the amt. of the spatters to be stuck by using Ti, Al or the alloy thereof to constitute the torch nozzle and contact chip of a welding machine and further subjecting the same to an oxidation or nitriding treatment.

CONSTITUTION: The torch nozzle and contact chip of the welding machine are made of Al, Ti or the alloy thereof. The oxide layer of Al2O3, TiO2, etc. or the nitride layer of TiN, etc. is then formed on the surfaces of the nozzle and chip. The Al2O3, TiO2 and TiN formed on the surfaces of the nozzle and chip adhere securely to the base metal and form a surface layer having the excellent resistance to sticking of the spatters. The amt. of the spatters to be stuck to the torch nozzle and contact chip is considerably decreased by the above-mentioned method.
