Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title material forming a welding bead zone having no change of color tone and no generation of spots and having no sense of incongruity with the color tone of a matrix zone by specifying the compsn. constituted of Fe, Si, Co, Ti and Al.

CONSTITUTION: The welding material for an aluminum alloy for gray coloring contains, by weight, 0.5 to 2.2% Fe, 0.3 to 2.0% Si, 0.05 to 1.0% Co, 0.01 to 0.3% Ti and the balance Al with inevitable impurities, which is usable by TIG welding, MIG welding, oxy-acetylene gas welding, etc. In the welding of the Al alloy for gray coloring of Al-Fe series by the above welding material, welding beads having no change of color tone and no generation of spots in the weld zone after subjected to anodizing treatment and having no sense of incongruity with the color tone of gray in the matrix zone can be obtd.
