PURPOSE: To automatically change a display attribute when the operating states of an arbitrary window program are changed, and to easily recognize the operat ing states by setting the correspondence of the operating states to the display attribute, and managing the set information.

CONSTITUTION: In the window display control method of a window display system equipped with a computer 10 which executes a window program 12, a display device 11 which displays the executed result of the window program 12 obtained by the computer 10 in a window, and input and output devices 13-16 connected to the computer 10, the plural operating states related with at least the inputting and outputting devices of the window program 12 to be executed on the computer, and the display attribute corresponding to each operating state are preliminarily registered in the computer (17 and 18), the operating states are monitored at the time of the execution of the window program 12 (26), and the display attribute of the window program 12 is automatically changed by referring to the registered display attribute when the operating states are changed (19).
