In a wireless communication control apparatus, a BER monitoring section 213 counts and stores a BER during communication on the basis of information outputted from an error correction decoder 205 and provides an output of BER information. A PER monitoring section 212 counts and stores a PER during communication on the basis of information obtained from a demodulation circuit 204 and provides an output of PER information. A packet type control section 211 grasps communication quality during stream transmission on the basis of the BER information outputted from the BER monitoring section 213 and the PER information outputted from the PER monitoring section 212 and selects a packet type depending on a frame length of voice data subjected to stream transmission obtained from a Codec section 208 to reduce the deterioration in the communication quality.
