Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject material, comprising a polymer blend prepared by adding polypropylene to a polyester and having a pearly luster without containing a color pigment and losing the pearly luster even after dyeing.
CONSTITUTION: This wiry material for a fastener having a pearly luster comprises a polymer blend of 100 pts.wt. polyester with 1-10 pts.wt. polypropylene. The intrinsic viscosity of the polyester is preferably 0.60-1.00 and the wiry material for the fastener (a monofilament, etc., for the fastener), excellent in mechanical strength, moldability and dyeability and having the pearly luster is obtained. Even when the dyeability of a fastener tape is changed, the dyeability can be controlled while hardly causing any change in physical properties such as shrinkage factor and the wiry material, together with the fastener tape, can be dyed.
